I don’t want to order the wrong size, what should I know?
The ring knives are currently available in sizes 3 through 15. Those sizes are the same as a jewelry store ring size. Our most popular sizes for ladies are 7 through 9 and for men, sizes 10 through 13. If you currently have a Handy Twine Knife, the size is stamped on the ring's band. If you still are not sure, order a little larger than you think you might need. The ring can be made smaller by wrapping it with string or tape for a “custom” fit. If you order knives that are too small there isn’t much you can do to make them larger.
May I return them?
Sure. Within 30 days you may return (for merchandise credit) any unused, full dozens that are in re-sellable condition. Your return may be subject to a re-stocking fee.
Does it matter on which finger I wear the ring knife?
No. Wear it where it is comfortable and gives you the best performance.
Size 15 is huge. Who would wear one that large?
Many of our customers – such as recyclers, newspaper/ magazine delivery people, and others who work outside – wear the ring over gloves. Due to customer demand we are planning to add larger sizes which should be available soon.
Do you have a “safety” knife?
Yes, we also make a knife that we call a “ball point”. Everything about the knife is the same except the tip of the blade is designed a little differently. See our product page for pictures. Both types are extremely safe. Most of what we sell are the original ring knives.
How is my order shipped?
Everything is shipped through United Parcel Service or UPS.
Methods of payment?
We accept Mastercard and Visa. We can ship C.O.D., or you can pay in advance. Subject to credit approval, businesses may elect to set up a charge account… our terms are 30 days. Residential orders and orders sent out of the country must be paid for in advance.
What are some of the most unusual uses for The Handy Twine Knife?
It seems that there are as many uses for our knife as there are companies out there. For example, our ring knife has been used to: tie grape vines to the fence and then again to harvest the grapes, trim mop heads, cut the netting that ham and turkeys come wrapped in, cut sausage and hot dog casings, trim/strip the wires in automotive electrical systems, cut Christmas tree netting, trim bananas for packaging, and much much more!
Are your knives approved to be used with food products?
Yes, many of our customers use the ring knife for meat packing and other food purposes, therefore we have had the knife approved by the USDA for use with food products. You can view a pdf of our approval letter here.
