Another benefit to having this split in the band is that it eliminates the guesswork involved in deciding what size knives to order. The small (red) knife fits finger sizes 8 thru 11, the medium (green) fits sizes 12 thru 15 and the large (blue) fits sizes 16 and up (See our FAQ for more info).

Quick Release Twine Knife
Our line of plastic ring knives was developed in 2009 as a safety knife. The polycarbonate band is made with a split in the back. The plastic is strong enough to keep the knife on the finger while in use, yet allows the user to "pull out" in the event that the blade would get caught in machinery etc. We use the same blade in the plastic knife as we use in the Original Ring knife.
